Table 'ojs.plugin_settings' doesn't exist

Postby gillesenvrac » Thu Mar 08, 2007 8:49 am

Hello,

After trying to use the automatic install, I changed manually the setting into the config file. It seems now that the communication is ON with the database... but not completely, for it is serching for tables that doesn't exist.

Will I have to create the tables myself ? If so, do you have a little command file ?

If not, what do I do wrong ?

I am on a Windows server; with MySQL5.

A question : do I have to create a "ODBC DSN" for my database ?

Thanks

Hi Gilles,

What problem were you having with the automatic install? It's definitely the best way to get started, and if it's not working, you may have other related problems.

as I remember...

Postby gillesenvrac » Thu Mar 08, 2007 1:49 pm

As I can remember... I just recreate it:

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Normally, is it the install script that is creating the database ?

When I created it, the port specified was :6807. So I specified the adress of the server with the port in the "host" line.

Thanks Alec

Hi Gilles,

Is this when you press the "Install" button, or before you even see the installation form? What URL are you at when you see the error message?

Also, just double-checking -- are you using the most recent release of OJS (currently 2.1.1)?

Hi Alec,

I am using the 2.1.1 version.

And no, I do not see any form when these error messages are displayed.

You can see by yourself :
http://www.rqiiac.qc.ca/journal/

When I changed manually the setting to identify the database and password.. . I had another type of message saying it can not find a table. So I deduce it is communicating with the DB.

Hi Gilles,

Looks to me like your host doesn't work with path_info URLs; try using the enable_path_info directive in your config.inc.php file. Then go to .../index.php/index/install and see if the installation form is displayed.

New installation

Postby gillesenvrac » Sat Mar 10, 2007 10:04 am

After trying a few hours to install PKP journal on a Windows server... I thought it would be simpler on a Linux installation...

No. I had the same problems : the access to the database was not granted until I created it myself, and changed the name and user into the config. Not so bad I have made this often for other pakages...

But after creating the DB the same problem occured : the tables are not find (I had put the verbose ON):

(mysql): SELECT setting_name, setting_value, setting_type FROM plugin_settings WHERE plugin_name = 'CounterPlugin' AND journal_id = '0' 1146: Table 'communau_IAC.plugin_settings' doesn't exist

adodb_mysql._execute(SELECT setting_name, setting_value, setting_type FROM plugin_settings WHERE plugin_name = 'CounterPlugin' AND journal_id = '0') % line 839, file: adodb.inc.php
adodb_mysql.execute(SELECT setting_name, setting_value, setting_type FROM plugin_settings WHERE plugin_name = ? AND journal_id = ?, Array[2]) % line 62, file: DAO.inc.php
pluginsettingsdao.retrieve(SELECT setting_name, setting_value, setting_type FROM plugin_settings WHERE plugin_name = ? AND journal_id = ?, Array[2]) % line 79, file: PluginSettingsDAO.inc.php
pluginsettingsdao.getpluginsettings(0, CounterPlugin) % line 59, file: PluginSettingsDAO.inc.php
pluginsettingsdao._cachemiss(Object:filecache, enabled) % line 0, file:

DB Error: Table 'communau_IAC.plugin_settings' doesn't exist

Hi Gilles,

Is the "Installed" setting in config.inc.php set to Off?

Postby gillesenvrac » Wed Mar 14, 2007 11:57 pm

It was that : I had atered the config to put it On... My own mistake !:-(

So I had the page of installation... and after a few ajustments It gave me the message that the system was installed !

After a few glitches I seem to be on road :D

Thanks for your patience Alec !
