Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

from a Mac to a Windows server

Hello,

I am trying to upload the PKP Journal to a windows server, and the ftp process is changing the names of the files in the t_compile subdirectory of the cache directory.

I tried to change the encoding caracter of my ftp software (from UFT-8 to ISO-8859-1) but it's not working.

Hi Gilles,

The contents of the cache/t_compile directory are automatically generated by OJS, so if you can't upload them, don't worry about it -- just make sure that the cache directory and all of its contents and subdirectories are writable by the web server user.

Thanks Alec, I'll work with that in mind.

There is another question I have : is there a way to make an installation on a Windows server work with less than a PHP5 ? That's to say a 4.xx PHP ?

Hi Gilles,

Try turning on the "disable_path_info" option in config.inc.php; this works around a bug in communications between PHP 4.x and Microsoft IIS. If you're using Apache, it should work with OJS and PHP 4.x.
