Information for readers, authors & Librarians has disapp

Postby ata_gp » Tue Feb 20, 2007 11:34 am

I don't why the default information about readers, authors and libriarians has dissepared.

I was using default texts because they had translations, so I would like to restore the original texts.

Anyone has had the same problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rafael,

There is a known issue with form data disappearing if you change languages while viewing or modifying for information; could this be what caused the data to disappear?

Actually I don't know, has been a surprise for me. I've only created a new issue (without articles) and then I've deleted it. After that some information of my current issue has disappeared.

Could you tell me solution to restore this information default information about authors, readers.... I'm confussed 'cos this is a dynamic content with automatic translation.

Thanks very much,
Rafael

Hi Rafael,

The default settings are installed when the journal is created (according to registry/journalSettings.xml); after that, these settings are treated as regular settings and are only updated manually. If you'd like to re-introduce the default settings, you'll have to enter it manually from the data in the locale file. For example, for the en_US locale, the relevant settings are in locale/en_US/locale.xml. Look for the following locale keys for the three information sections:
  • default.journalSettings.forReaders
  • default.journalSettings.forAuthors
  • default.journalSettings.forLibrarians

In case you haven't spotted the field where this information needs to be entered, look in Setup page 5.

Hi Alec,

I don't know if I understand your explanation.

Do you mean I have to copy the content located in locale/en_US/locale.xml next to the following sections: default.journalSettings.forReaders, default.journalS... into Setup page 5?

For instance, copy: "We encourage readers to sign up for the publishing notification service for this journal. Use the <a href="{$indexUrl}/{$journalPath}/user/register">Register</a> link at the top of the homepage for the journal. This registration will result in the reader receiving the Table of Contents by email for each new issue of the journal. This list also allows the journal to claim a certain "

And past it into Setup step 5 (information for autors field)?

I've tried it... but neither the links nor the translation work.

What i'm doing worng? probably all the process.... I'm sorry
