How to apply a CVS patch

Postby ata_gp » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:53 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to apply a CVS patch referring to "Allow manual re-ordering of published issues / correction of published date" (you can see here http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=107")

I have not access to my data base (SQL), so I would like to apply it manually. Is it possible? uploading this file via FTP into my OJS files?

I find very interesting this patch...

Thanks it advance,
Rafael

Hi Rafael,

There's some information on applying patches at http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1342. If you don't have SSH or telnet access to your server, you'll need to download the files to your local computer, apply the patch using the patch tool, and re-upload them.

This patch also includes a schema change; the relevant snippet of the patch is http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/dbscripts/xml/ojs_schema.xml.diff?r1=1.128;r2=1.129. You'll have to create a new MySQL table manually according to this description.
