Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

(Sorry for my english but i'm a student with ojs problems)

Hello. I have a problem with the smtp configuration. I have smtp connection with authentication and when I write a mail through ojs doesn't arrive the mail, but the ojs doesn't show any errors, everything seems normal.

I changed the SMTP file from classes dir and the php.ini and the config.inc.php. Everything seems normal but the email never arrives.

I need help please.

Hi miasky,

The CVS version of classes/mail/SMTPMailer.inc.php includes debugging output. You can try using it to help debug your mail problems. Get it from http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/classes/mail/SMTPMailer.inc.php.

I would thank for an explication, although it was small.

Thanks.

Hi Miasky,

Download the current version (i.e. http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/classes/mail/SMTPMailer.inc.php?rev=1.4) to your server and replace the existing classes/mail/SMTPMailer.inc.php with this new version.

The new version uses PHP's error_log facility (see http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.error-log.php) to record debugging information if an error occurs. Typically, it'll be recorded to your web server's log file. Try sending an email with the new file in place and see if any debugging messages are available.

Thanks a lot.

I tried all that you've been said and the problem is with the authentication.

Bye.
