1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Issues with Re-captcha

Postby rgillis » Thu Feb 20, 2014 2:27 pm

Hi there,

I'm experiencing the same issues as this person here: http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9824

My config settings are:

Code: Select all
; Whether or not to enable ReCaptcha
recaptcha = on

; Public key for reCaptcha (see http://www.google.com/recaptcha)
recaptcha_public_key = <my_public_key>

; Private key for reCaptcha (see http://www.google.com/recaptcha)
recaptcha_private_key = <my_private_key>

; Whether or not to use Captcha on user registration
captcha_on_register = on

; Whether or not to use Captcha on user comments
captcha_on_comments = on

; Whether or not to use Captcha on notification mailing list registration
captcha_on_mailinglist = on

Yet, despite this - the recaptcha feature doesn't appear at all.

Any help that anyone could provide would be most appreciated.

If there's not a workable solution is it possible to use just the captcha options that have been used in previous versions (I recently upgraded to 2.3.7)?

Thanks!

Hi Roger,

ReCAPTCHA is not supported until OJS 2.4.0; I suggest upgrading to the latest OJS 2.4.x.

Hi Alec,

Sorry - I indicated the wrong version. I am in fact running 2.4.3.

Any thoughts?

Hi Roger,

Do you have the "captcha" option enabled? This will need to be turned in in order for ReCAPTCHA to work.

Hi Alec,

Do you mean the captcha option in the config.inc.php? If so, yes I do.

I'm still not getting the feature showing up on my user registration page, though...

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Roger,

Can you check your PHP configuration or phpinfo() page to see whether libgd support is enabled?
