PAYPAL AND OJS

Postby PiccolaImpresa » Mon Feb 03, 2014 3:22 am

Hi

I've a problem with setting between OJS 2.4.2 and Paypal.

Precisely, I've set in OJS payment

1- URL https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr
2- email address or seller account

and in Paypal Profile:
- I've enabled IPN message
- I've written URL of my site

I've done a lot of tries but I don't receive message by paypal and OJS don't active the subscriptions, don't see the payment it has done
Perhaps I've made a mistake in URL where Paypal have to send notification ?

I've read post on this blog but I've fail to resolve my problem.

Help me!
Thank you very much!

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

Have you applied the recommended patch for PayPal on our 2.4.2 recommended patches list?

http://pkp.sfu.ca/wiki/index.php?title= ... ed_Patches

The second one. Please try that and see if it fixes your problem.

Regards,
Jason

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

To confirm: is your server running on a publicly accessible IP address (as opposed to a local test server)? PayPal's site will need to reach your server to confirm payment once it's been processed.

Cheers,
Michael

Yes, my site web is publicly accessible
It's not need to insert IP or prox code.

I've installaed Bug #8144: PayPal payments never complete with site restriction enabled.
and insert in paypal account on notification URL http://rivistapiccolaimpresa.uniurb.it/

I've done some tries but OJS don't active subscription after having received the payment.
Now, at the user appeare a table on subscription status and other generic information.
There is not segnal in Subscription management and the user cannot see articles. Subscription is not enabled!

Perhaps, the problem is in the bug manage of array...miss payment ???
If i installed OJS 2.4.3.0, I could fix resolve the problem ?

Than you very much for your attention !

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

Can you please confirm that your test payments are marked as "Completed" within your PayPal account (as opposed to, e.g. "Under Review")?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

Can you please check your journal's primary contact email account and confirm that you are not receiving a PayPal error email from OJS (please check your spam folder as well). The default subject of this email is "Unusual PayPal Activity" and it contains IPN details received by OJS.

If you are getting these sent to you, can you please PM me with the email's contents?

Thanks,
Michael

For helping, I think post two important elements.

First, detail notification message from Paypal

Pacthed I've installed for resolving "PayPal payments never complete with site restriction enabled"

Perhaps, is there the problem ?
I hold very much to this project and miss only this aspect to end
Thank you very much for your valualble help !

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

Thanks for the additional info.

Have you also checked your PHP error log to see if there is any additional information around the day/time when you test PayPal payments?

Cheers,
Michael

Thank you Michael for your attention !

Unfortunately, I have not received none message also in test area.
I've made a lot of attempts. I've contacted also PayPal customer service but they've said the problem is in platform or in the URL.

Precisely, in which folder the notification have to be sent ?

You are sure in http://rivistapiccolaimpresa.uniurb.it/, it's ok ?

If I'm install new version OJS, could I fix the problem ?

Thank you for your attention !

Cheers

Hi PiccolaImpresa,

Yes, your PayPal settings look good.

Your OJS version is also ok and relatively recent -- there have not been any recent updates to payment processing.

Can you please check your config.inc.php and tell me your localization settings, i.e. the following settings,

Code: Select all
locale
client_charset
connection_charset
database_charset
charset_normalization

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael !

That is the code

####
; Default locale
locale = it_IT
; Client output/input character set
client_charset = utf-8
; Database connection character set
; Must be set to "Off" if not supported by the database server
; If enabled, must be the same character set as "client_charset"
; (although the actual name may differ slightly depending on the server)
connection_charset = Off
; Database storage character set
; Must be set to "Off" if not supported by the database server
database_charset = Off
; Enable character normalization to utf-8 (recommended)
; If disabled, strings will be passed through in their native encoding
; Note that client_charset and database collation must be set
; to "utf-8" for this to work, as characters are stored in utf-8
charset_normalization = Off

#####

Thank you very much!
