Documentation: The OJS Technical Reference and the OJS API Reference are both available from the OJS Documentation page. While these are OJS-specific, the OCS codebase is similar enough to OJS they should be of help. There is also an OCS Documentation page with some more general documentation that might also be of interest.

Git: You can access our public Git Repository here. Comprehensive Git usage instructions are available on the wiki.

Bugzilla: You can access our Bugzilla report tracker here.

Search: You can use our Google Custom Search to search across our main website, the support forum, and Bugzilla.

Questions and discussion are welcome, but if you have a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a technical support question, try the OCS Technical Support subforum.

OCS 2.3.5 Recommended Patches

Postby tshore » Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:16 pm

Since the CVS version of OCS is not usable, I have installed OCS 2.3.5 (for the 2nd year in a row!) and I am attempting to apply all the recommended patches:
http://pkp.sfu.ca/wiki/index.php?title=OCS_2.3.5_Recommended_Patches

Some work and some don't. And the last half of the patches aren't available as patches at all. Several of the bug reports point to the GitHub diff page. For example:
https://github.com/pkp/ocs/commit/b9b65594a726db7dd231504f429c5a781a62e1fb#diff-0
and I wasn't able to figure out how to use what was available on these pages to patch my installation of OCS.

I wonder, since this is the recommended way to start off with a new installation of OCS, if one of you guys could attempt this process and fix the patches that don't work and include instructions how to use the GitHub pages as patches?

Thank you.

Hi tshore,

We've standardized our practices for patches in the last few months and will be linking to them consistently in the future; however, OCS 2.3.5 hasn't yet benefited from that reconciliation. I'd suggest using the ocs-stable-2_3 branch in the OCS git repository, which is basically the most recent 2.3.x release plus recommended patches.

I faced similar issues, and have scripted it now for list of patches on http://pkp.sfu.ca/wiki/index.php/OCS_2. ... ed_Patches

I only skipped Bug 8089 as it doesn't seem to affect us.

Thanks for having OJS and OCS as foss, they are great !

Regards,
Troc.

PS. Forum will not accept more than 4 urls. Hence pastbin. Should github.com/pkp and pkp.sfu.ca be whitelisted for these forums ?

Hi Troc,

Thanks -- note that we have a planned release of OCS 2.3.x later this year that will wrap up the recommended patches list; it's getting unwieldy.
