Reading tools endnote export bug

Postby Looted » Tue Nov 12, 2013 11:20 am

Hello,

I found a bug in the endnote export option in reading tools. The year value is put into series title, the DOI is not included at all, the ISBN shows "1733-5566|escape}", whole article is treated as a book rather than article. I found a similar (or even the same) bug in bugzilla http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4823; it figures as resolved, I'm however still expieriencing those issues while using 2.2.4 version of OJS.

Hi Looted,

See the first patch listed at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8473 to correct the template typo resulting in the "|escape}".

I don't have specific experience with EndNote, so I can't comment on why content is being treated as a book; I wonder if that's the reason the year is being entered into the series title. If you're able to inspect the EndNote export and compare to another EndNote import that's successfully identified as a journal, please post the details here.

The DOI information is currently not provided to several citation formats, including EndNote; it's filed as a feature request at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8415.

Thank you for your response Alec. I already figured it out and edited my template. If anyone needs it, here are lines that need to be added to the template file in order to export more and proper information into endote:

For export being treated as a journal article, and not a book, add:
Code: Select all
%0 Journal Article

For adding the DOI, add:
Code: Select all
%R {$article->getPubId('doi')|escape}

For adding article pages, add:
Code: Select all
%P {$article->getPages()|escape}

Hi Looted,

Excellent, thanks -- I've folded those into http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8473. The only difference from what you've written above is that there are conditionals to avoid including %R and %P if those values haven't been specified by the Editor.
