DOAJ Export in 2.4.2 - white screen

Postby gemusehandler » Mon Jun 03, 2013 2:05 pm

Alec, I work with to versions of OJS (2.3.6 and 2.4.2) on different, unrelated servers.

On the 2.3.6 I can use the export function for DOAJ. Works simple. Click on "Export Journal" and my browser downloads automatically a XML-file that I can upload to the DOAJ website. All fine. Works like a charm.

On the 2.4.2 server my Journal (just accepted by DOAJ  ) behaves differently. When I click on "Export Journal" I get a perfectly white field in my browser window. No XML download. How do I proceed?

Hi gemusehandler,

Anything in your PHP error log? Usually a blank page indicates that an error occurred. The log will give more details.

Hi gemusehandler,

I'd suggest applying the patch linked here to address a memory leak that might be raising memory requirements beyond what should be needed. If it's a big export, and that doesn't solve the problem, you may need to increase your PHP memory limit in the php.ini file.

Problems with generating DOAJ xml.

We just installed the 2.4.2.0 version of OJS , however we migrated the journals data from an older version of it. Now, we are having trouble the doaj export plugin. After we click on the the journal export, we only get a server error white screen, and this happens only with the journals with lots of issues. What might be causing that?

Thanks a lot!

Hi thayse,

Is there a specific error message, or just a blank screen? If just a blank screen, have you checked your server error log?
