publish layout from desktop

Postby mel » Sun Aug 25, 2013 4:06 am

Hi,

I downloaded the review copy to my desktop and did proofreading, copy editing, and layout on the desktop without going through the steps (roles) in OJS on-line.

I will make PDF's of the lay-out copy. I want to publish both the articles and separate abstracts as PDFs (no html)

1. Can I upload to publish the layout copy from my desktop without going through the "roles?"
2. If I bypass those intermediate steps will the crawlers still find the metadata?
3. How can I preview the entire issue before putting it on-line?
:?:

Thank you,
mel

Hi,

I think I found a work-around.

I can upload a commentary (by someone other than me) directly to layout/galley in my role as journal manager and then change on-line to show the real author's name.

Does anyone know if this is possible to do for article that have been peer-reviewed?

Hi Mel,

Yes, Editorial roles can work directly on the layout information for the article whether or not it's been peer reviewed.
