Sending editor's decision to reviewers

Are you an Editor, Author, or Journal Manager in need of help? Want to talk to us about workflow issues? This is your forum.

Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Sending editor's decision to reviewers

Postby CJLT » Tue Jul 09, 2013 1:20 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to set up to send the editor's decisions to the reviewers using the "After sending, present an editable BCC copy to send to reviewers" check box when I notify the authors.

The message looks correct on the screen with all the fields filled in but when I send myself a BCC, I get this:
Decision on "{$articleTitle}"
As one of the reviewers for the submission, "{$articleTitle}," to
{$journalName}, I am sending you the reviews and editorial decision sent to
the author of this piece. Thank you again for your important contribution to
this process.

{$editorialContactSignature}

{$comments}

I'm not sure what I need to change so the message I see on the screen is actually sent to the reviewers instead of this template. Thanks.

I'm not sure and our tech person is on holidays. Is there a way I can find out?

Hi Jenna,

If you have a System Administrator role, you can get it from the system. Otherwise, if you post your system's URL here, I can find out.

Hi Jenna,

Yes, that'll do. You're running OJS 2.3.7.

This is the same problem discussed at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7346. Rather than back-porting a fix to OJS 2.3.7, I recommend upgrading to OJS 2.3.8 or 2.4.2.
