How are user login sessions stored?

Postby cwrstl » Thu Jun 13, 2013 10:47 am

I'm going to be helping to troubleshoot an issue on an OCS server where the logging out sometimes fails. Can anyone tell me if the user login session is stored in a flat file or in the database?

Hi cwrstl,

Sessions are stored in the database in the "sessions" table. Check your PHP error log for details, and search this forum for APC-related issues if you're using that opcode cache.

Thanks for the info. As it happens, the issue turned out to be the Apache ExpiresActive directive, which was causing the browser to cache the logout. I disabled it for the OCS directory, and fixed our issue.
