What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

How to set "email" notification settings to on by default

Postby btbell » Wed Apr 10, 2013 9:19 am

We have a client who would like to have the "email" notification settings (Send me an email for these types of notifications) set as checked by default for any new users.

While I am able to set the boxes via the markup, i can not figure out how to get it to populate the database so the emails will be sent. Nor am I able to find the code to match the "allow" settings which are already set by default when OJS is installed. I have perused the class methods in the classes/notifications directory and the /lib/pkp/classes/notification/ directory as well but I'm lost.

Additionally, they would like this to apply to the existing users in the journal as well. Is this even possible?

TIA,

-brian
