Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

font size block broken with ssl/https

Postby Effie » Wed Mar 13, 2013 11:10 am

The font size block no longer works once I moved the OCS site to ssl/https for Chrome and IE. It does seem to work in https for Firefox and Safari. It's a new install at 2.3.5
How can I fix it so that it always works?
Here's an example:

Many Thanks,

Hello again,

I've tried changing my configuration in httpd.conf and ocs.conf with no success in fixing this.
We are moving 15 OCS servers to the most recent version and hopefully to https.
Am I forgetting something in the big picture that is preventing this from working?
Many Thanks,
Effie

Hi Effie,

The font sizer is implemented in lib/pkp/js/sizer.js -- it toggles the enabled/disabled states of the styles/font*.css stylesheets. If you're mixing HTTP and HTTPS in your requests (i.e. redirecting to a HTTPS connection on login), then likely the cookie-based storage of font size preference is not going to work. Are the controls themselves not working, or is the stored preference that's not working?

Here's the solution:

In config.inc.php change enable_cdn to Off:

enable_cdn = Off

If you changed your code to use "protocol relative urls", I think these problems would go away.

thanks, :)
