What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

How to display e-mail-addresses for editorial board members?

Postby kellner » Mon Sep 11, 2006 12:55 pm

Is it possible to disable the display of e-mail-addresses for editorial board members altogether? We'd prefer to have all contact channeled through two editors-in-chief, and some of our older board members don't even have e-mail.

As e-mail-addresses are obligatory for all users (for good reasons), we had to enter dummy addresses for the editors who don't have any, but it may be confusing for our site visitors to see links to e-mail-addresses which then turn out to be non-functional (even when we remove the UNIQUE index from the e-mail-field and enter one of our editors-in-chief's address for all board members).

Hi Kellner,

The best way to do this is to edit templates/about/editorialTeamBio.tpl and change the line reading:
Code: Select all
        <i>{$user->getFullName()|escape}</i> {icon name="mail" url=$address}<br />
to:
Code: Select all
        <i>{$user->getFullName()|escape}</i><br />
