Role access error message in Journal Config > Submissions

Postby ramon » Wed Feb 27, 2013 1:04 pm

Hello all,

We are providing support to an institution and brought a copy of their installation over to our server for testing.
We upgraded it to 2.3.7 and it seems to be working ok, except for the following error messages that show up in Config > Submissions.

This one shows up as the page loads:
Code: Select all
O papel atual não possui permissão para realizar esta operação. [http://treinamento.ibict.br/seer/ituiutaba/revistas/index.php/RCI/$$$call$$$/grid/filter/parser-filter-grid/fetch-grid]

This one after clicking ok on the first error message:
Code: Select all
O papel atual não possui permissão para realizar esta operação. [http://treinamento.ibict.br/seer/ituiutaba/revistas/index.php/RCI/$$$call$$$/grid/filter/lookup-filter-grid/fetch-grid]

The messages do not prevent us from working, though, so they seem harmless.

They are definitely related to role access. We are logging in as admin, but we are not journal managers.
If we were, we assume the messages wouldn't show up.

Is this a serious issue, or just a general warning?
What are those grid functions for?

Hi Ramón,

The message is due to you not being a journal manager, as you suspected. The error will prevent the citation checking and citation extraction grids on setup 3 of 'setup' from loading. I guess my question is whether or not non-journal managers should have access to journal setup steps.

Regards,
Jason

Hello Jason,

Thanks a lot!
This will help us in the future, whenever the question pops-up.
