Hello,
I had a previous version of OCS running fine on a 1and1.com server and wanted to make a fresh install with version 2.3.5
I deleted the old database and installation, created a fresh empty database, put the appropriate info in the config file and turned ON disable_path_info
And now I get this error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /homepages/34/d365427807/htdocs/classes/handler/validation/HandlerValidatorSubmissionComment.inc.php on line 27
Not really sure where to go trying to fix that ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Patrick,
It sounds like that file has somehow been modified to include a typo or syntax error; I'd suggest comparing it to a fresh copy from the distribution .tar.gz file.

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded the most recent version here: http://pkp.sfu.ca/ocs/download/ocs-2.3.5.tar.gz
I put the files on the server without making any modifications, I don't know how an error/typo could have appeared there.
any other ideas ?

Hi Patrick,
Found it -- apparently your version of PHP is more stringent with certain kinds of errors than mine. Try applying the patch linked from http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8077 (removal of an ampersand).
