What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:1.
Search the forum. You can do this from the
Advanced Search Page or from our

especially recommend searching the forum for said error.
2.
Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3.
Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the

Hi there
My OJS journal has been hit be several hundred spam user registrations. The Profile details are always gobbledy-gook and the country is always Afghanistan. I don't know if they are automatically generated - I can't believe any idiots would manually do this, especially when they are unenrolled as soon as discovered.
My problem is that, as Journal Manager, I cannot find a way to remove them completely off the system. That is, all spam registrations have been removed from 'Users enrolled in this journal', but are all still listed under 'Show users with no role'.
Can anybody tell me how to remove these and, ideally, set up a block on further registrations?
Kind regards
DAN

Hello Dan,
As JM, check the "Merge" users feature.
It will enable you to choose multiple users and merge them into another account.
What it does is transfer all the activities of the first users selected to the account select afterwards.
You can merge many at once, or one by one, if you wish.
That is the only way to remove users from the database completely.
