I am a newcomer, just learning the ropes of OJS. We are almost ready to publish our first online journal and we have been hacked. TIGER@MATE is the culprit. I am not at all web savvy but have access to a web technician if I know what to ask or advise. Please tell me what I need to do?

There are lots of threads on the forum about this -- see e.g. http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1776
-- and it will definitely take some investigation to figure out what happened. See also the security flaws listed at http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs_download
; check your version of OJS to see if it's affected. We have a good security track record, but not perfect, and you do need to keep up to date with any security issues that are found.

Hi asmecher, I'm curious to know what your web host is. If you are hosted in Hostgator then you can try chat.hostgator.com and have their technical support team do a scan and clean on your page.
