What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Modifying the OJS Submission Process

Postby metricgravity » Sun Aug 19, 2012 4:49 pm

Hi.

I am the website manager for an OJS journal (The Journal of Insect Science). I wish to modify the process of submitting articles to the journal. However, I am having trouble making certain changes which were requested by the Editor in Chief.

I was wondering whether there is documentation for the code for OJS journals, or documentation for the submission process in particular. That would make my job easier.

I have been struggling at this for some time. It is non-trivial to modify someone else's code. Thank you for your help.

Hi metricgravity,

The OJS Technical Reference is the best general resource, though it's currently a little out of date. (See http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/docs/technicalreference/2.1/index.html.) If you can describe the specific changes you want to make, we might be able to supply some guidance as well.
