Word Count function problem

Word Count function problem

Dear all,

I find that the word count function on abstract is simply counting the words between the space character at
at the end of the last if-loop:
count(explode(" ",strip_tags($localizedAbstract))) < $wordCount

I have users putting double space character after each sentence. This cause error in the word count function for the abstract field. Should we trim double space before doing this count? Thanks.
