What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

ReCaptcha Issue

Postby Kaitlin » Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:40 pm

Hello, I've been trying to add ReCaptcha to our journal, but the API isn't being registered.

I've made added the information stated here: http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4082
and added our public and private keys in the places marked as "your_public_key" and "your_private_key" in the Config file. I've also made the adjustments required in these forms:
https://github.com/pkp/pkp-lib/commit/c ... df6#diff-2
https://github.com/pkp/ojs/commit/99a7f ... 693f3e29d0

However, there is an error message which appears that says, "To use reCAPTCHA you must get an API key from www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create.

So, is the API key supposed to go somewhere other than the Config file? Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be a great help!

Thanks,
Kaitlin

Hi Kaitlin,

Yes, you only need to add your keys to config.inc.php

To confirm:

1) You've added the new public and private key settings to the [captcha] subsection in your config file?

2) You've removed the semi-colon ';' at the start of the lines for both the public and private keys in the config file?

Cheers,
Michael

I've been trying to add to mine as well, but after I got it all done the comment reply page (../comment/add/..) was completely blank with no displayed errors. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Califer,

Please double-check your file ownership and permissions on any and all files that you modified.
