As journal manager, I find myself spending a lot of time assisting authors and reviewers logging into OJS.
One author created three different user IDs with 3 different e-mail addresses. After being unable to submit her manuscript, she asked me to submit the manuscript on her behalf. I chose one of her user IDs and, as Journal Manager, logged in as that User and submitted the manuscript.
I then discovered she created the multiple user IDs. I asked her to choose a user ID and e-mail address and then I could remove the other user IDs.
The account that we're keeping has a different e-mail address than the one she wants to use. When I tried to change the e-mail address, OJS told me I could not change the e-mail address to an address which another user in the system was using. When I removed the other User IDs with that e-mail address, I still get the error
The selected email address is already in use by another user.
Any suggestions?
