This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.
2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.
3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

One Person Editorial Board

Is it possible for one person to administer OJS? One person would play the role of editor, reviewer, etc.

Please read the available OJS documentation.
OJS is role based, where 1 person can have multiple roles in multiple journals.

I realize one person can play several roles. For a single journal and a single human, is the process of playing multiple roles too cumbersome too be workable?

Hello Joe,
I'm sorry I didn't understand your question at first.
That will depend on the size of your journal, how many articles do you receive, how organized and defined are your processes, how well does the single-person Editorial Team know every aspect of the software, hardware, editorial processes and tools.
It can be done, but it will require lots of effort and time for a medium to large size journal.
