Is it safe to delete users from the SQL?

We had a little problem with a few thousand robots registering on our server. Looking at their account information it is rather easy to determine the robots. I was wondering if it were safe to simply delete the entries for their user accounts in on the SQL. Can anybody guess some scenario where this approach would go wrong?

Hi lednakashim,

See viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8271 for a discussion on how to merge larger numbers of users from your system. Note that simply deleting rows from the users table is not a particularly clean solution, as user information is stored elsewhere.
