Payment system

We have access to a generic payment system. Can it be used as a plug in with OJS?

Hi Grif,
OJS doesn't currently have any built-in support for payment systems; we've earmarked this for inclusion in OJS 2.2, which will enter the development phase in approximately a month. We'll likely use a plugin approach for this, so that specific methods of payment can be added as individual plugins with an easy-to-use API.
In the meantime, depending on your needs, you may be able to write what you need as a generic plugin. If you provide some more information, I can advise.

A payment plugin is one our list of planned items for 2.2, implemented as a generic plugin. Our feature list currently includes *both* PayPal and generic 3rd-party payment (typically credit card) authorization.
Grif, if you have details about a specific merchant or API, we would be happy to review them to see how we can include support for them.
