I keep getting an error message when I try to import an issue using the import/export data template: The upload failed; please ensure that uploads are allowed on your server and that the file is not too big for your PHP and web server configuration.
Can anyone tell me what errors or misconfigurations may be blocking the upload?

xml file itself is 16KB, but it references the html and pdf versions of the articles that are already on the server that total 1084KB. Do these files also count in the size of the upload? The html files also reference a number of jpgs (author photos and figures). Are they also considered part of the total xml upload?

Hi Charles,
This is speculation at this point, but one thing I noticed from your phpinfo is that your server is running PHP in a CGI/FastCGI environment. I would have to do some testing to see if the "regular" way of doing file uploads in PHP is supported in that environment. Do other regular file uploads work? For example, can you customize your conference via the Manager interface for Step 3 - Website Headers, etc, area and upload things like a masthead logo?
