This plugin allows for the most popular (most viewed) articles to be linked from the sidebars. The plugin cannot be currently configured through a management interface, but instructions on how to change the number of articles can be found in the README.

Dr. Sultan Tarlacı,
The ## indicate a locale key that has not been translated to the language you're using. I think the plugin has only been translated to english, so if your journal is using another language, you will need to add a new locale folder and file (see the plugin's folder locale/en_US/locale.xml).

I just checked your plugin's locale.xml file, and for some reason the message keys appear incorrectly. You can see for yourself here: http://www.neuroquantology.com/nq2010/p ... locale.xml. This file should instead read as follows:

I'm not sure why the message keys have been changed in your case, but the locale won't appear properly until they are changed to the above.

Hi,
is it possible to generate a page of general statistics (i.e. for all papers in the journal since the first issue published) using this plugin?

Hi Andrea,

You would probably have to extend the plugin fairly heavily to do so, or otherwise create a new plugin.

I am currently part of a Statistics Working Group who are extending OJS' statistics-gathering (and displaying) functionality. The group is part of a Canadian national project, with a fairly specific set of goals in mind, but we are always interested and able to cooperate with others. Is this something you might be able to (and interested in) collaborate on?

Hello!

I am a new user of OJS and I do not have any experience with it.
I uploaded this Plugin to the specified folder. I see ##plugins.block.Mo... in the Look Configuration, then I move it to right Block.
The problem is that the system does not show any Article in the right block.

I checked the locale.xml file, it is the same as what it should be.
The OJS verion installed is 2.3.3.2

Can any one please tell me what should be done to make the Plugin working?

Hi Amirali,

This plugin hasn't been upgraded to work with OJS 2.3+ yet, unfortunately, so it won't work as expected. If you have any development experience we can offer suggestions on updating it; otherwise, we may update it in the future, but it might not be for a while.

We would like to use the popular articles plugin you mentioned above. I am trying to modify it so it’s compatible with the 2.3.3.3 version of OJS. However, I can only see the block plugin when browsing to Step 5. Customizing the Look. On all other pages, it is not displayed. I have added it to the right sightbar in the layout setup configuration page.

When looking into the technical reference , you mention 4 types of plugins. However, I cannot find any explanation on the block plugin.

Hi pkpuser,

The Technical Reference was written before we were using block plugins, so you won't find any reference to them there until it's updated. You might find this page to be helpful. Take a look, and let us know if you have further questions. We will of course include this documentation in the reference guide when it is updated.

I have the exact same problem when I copy the code from the about plugin. How does one fix this?

There isn't an "about" plugin as far as I know -- could you clarify what you are trying to do?
