Catching file upload errors

When an author uploads a submission file in Step 3 of the submission process, it is processed by the saveSubmit function of the SubmitHandler. This calls uploadSubmissionFile in AuthorSubmitStep3Form. As far as I can see, this function always returns false (updateArticle in the ArticleDAO doesn't return anything). Is that what is intended? [It doesn't cause a bug, but in modifying the script to accept only pdf files I am puzzled by it. It seems to me to make sense for the function to return true upon success. What happens if there is an error when uploading the file?]
