Where the authors should upload the new ver. of their paper?

Hi all,
we are running OCS in the abstract followed by presentation mode.

Now the reviewers have made theirs comments and the authors received them. I can not understand where the author have to upload their revised paper... ???

Does anyone can help

Notes:
In OCS help page (/help/view/editorial/topic/000007) this text appears (manager):

More than one Reviewer at a time can be assigned to a submission, and subsequent rounds of review can be started by the Director choosing Resubmit for Review for the Director Decision. Review requests can be canceled by clicking the Cancel Review Request link.

In OCS help page (help/view/editorial/topic/000017) this text appears (author):

In addition, the Author is involved in the editorial process, including submitting a full paper, or uploading revised versions, or providing presentation files later as required.

=> here we see that the file needs revisions, as the director recorded "revisions required" and noticed the author


The author's submission details:

=> here the author is not able to change his paper. He can only upload an author version which won't replace / upgrade his previous paper.


So the question is how to make the author able to upload a revised version of his works?

HI Ponsfrilus,

The Upload Author Version is actually where the Author should be uploading this -- the new version won't replace the original version, but it will be viewable by the Director as a new Author Version under Director Decision. It can then be downloaded and viewed by the Director; the Director can accept the submission; and then choose between the new or old file to be sent on to Layout. There may be confusion as to what "Author Version" means on the Author's page, and perhaps this should be changed to "Upload Revised Author Version" for clarity's sake.

Ok,
but there are no link between the reviewers and this new file? In other words reviewers are not noticed about this new file, are not able to see it and this new file is not reseting the review process/form, correct? If I want to run a second turn of reviewing for this file it means that I had to upload it as revised file, clear reviewers, set new reviewers and start this process again?

Hi Ponsfrilus,

Yes, that is correct -- once a single review has been completed, it's basically done. To re-review any file, you have to start a new review from the beginning of the review process -- assign a reviewer, and so on.
