Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

[OCS 2.3] Website header not found after redirect

Postby alnazmin » Tue Feb 02, 2010 6:34 pm

I already upload and setup the title image for conference title and website header in "index/manager/setup/3"

The header and image appear nicely but when I redirect the conference to scheduled conference in "index/manager/setup/2" the image not appear in the page anymore after click the link from "home"

from the httpd error log

Code: Select all
File does not exist: /var/www/html/ocs/public/conferences/6/schedConfs, referer: http://www.usymposia.upm.my/index.php/isits2010/ISITS2010

I have checked the folder and found that folder schedConfs not created automaticly.

Hi,

I have a feeling that this is the same problem as referenced here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5743&p=21796#p21796. Check my response there and follow up in that thread if you have any further issues.

Cheers,
James

Hi James,

I have a similiar problem. I successfully upgraded (via patch and php script) my OCS from 2.1.1.2 to 2.3.2

After the upgrade, the browser does not load the HeaderTitleImage. It seems just an address problem, since we can see the image in the adminstrative area.

The OCS address is http://cbce.tempsite.ws/congressos

and HeaderImages address are now

http://cbce.tempsite.ws/pageHeaderTitleImage_pt_BR.jpg

Other images were not loading, so I copied the images from /templates/imagems to the new directory at /lib/pkp/ and it is working.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Renato,

Regarding the second issue: a lot of packaged images were moved from their old location in templates/images to lib/pkp/templates/images as part of the PKP Web Application Library modularization effort. Unfortunately, upgrading via patch won't move these images around -- the patch tool can't handle binary files such as imagefiles. (There is a note in the upgrade documentation that recommends for those upgrading via patch to check for new/moved images.) So it sounds like you've essentially solved that problem in the recommended fashion.

Regarding the first issue: I took a look at the site you linked to, but can't see a link to the header image in the page source. Did you delete the image? Also, if this is a development/test copy of a production site, did you properly configure your base_url, public_files_dir and files_dir directives in config.inc.php?

Cheers,
James

I didnt deleted the image, I only unmarked the Title Image and marked the text title.

You can find another example of what I was explaing in the page at this conference page.

http://cbce.tempsite.ws/congressos/inde ... CE/IVCSBCE

The image is not loading, whilst its address is only

http://cbce.tempsite.ws/pageHeaderTitleImage_pt_BR.jpg

while it should something like

http://cbce.tempsite.ws/congressos/publ ... _pt_BR.jpg

My base_url, public_files, and files_dir are OK on config.inc.

Hi Renato,

Have you modified your header template files by any chance? It does look like something is overriding the normal image setting behaviour for that image; the likeliest solution is that you or someone on your team modified the header image, and it is for some reason pointing to an image that does not exist on your demo server.

James

Re: [OCS 2.3] Website header not found after redirect - [SOLVED]

Postby mendesrocha » Fri Dec 24, 2010 2:12 pm

I found a solution to my problem.

Probably, I've done some previous modification on header.tpl and that file was not patched during upgrade process. I found the file header.tpl.rej on the directory and corrected my file. Same happened on plugins/block/navigation/block.tpl

Anyway, I am happy with my new OCS 2.3.3.3!

Thanks!
