Hello,
I´m installing a OJS server and configured it to use the pt_BR locale. Unfortunately, when I click the help link, there is the following message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/edumedne/public_html/ojs/pages/help/HelpHandler.inc.php on line 61
When I use the english locale, instead, there is no error.
I would be very thankful if you could help me.
Best regards,
Marcelo Sabbatini

Hi Marcelo,
You're seeing an error message because the help files haven't been translated into either Portuguese or Spanish yet. Our next release, which will be available very shortly, will default to the English version if a translation is not available. (See
http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2036 for bugzilla entry.)

Alec Smecher

Dear Alec,
thank for your response. I imagined this was the problem, but I saw a workaround in:
http://calvados.c3sl.ufpr.br/ojs2/index.php/rbent(pt locale, but help links works, altough 99% of the text is in English. So I did what I thik these editor did, simply made a copy of the en_US help, renamed to pt_BR and uploaded it. No error message this time, but help awaits translation
By the may, my journal is:
http://www.edumed-ne.org/ojs/index.php/focus/
Thank you very much
Marcelo

I´m translating the help of OJS2 to portuguese on calvados.c3sl.ufpr.br/ojs2 but not finished yet. Many things to do before that... and I´m alone!
The Editorial part is finished but the rest is not.
I´ll post here when the translations ends.

I finished the OJS 2.0.2.1 Help translation to Portuguese (Brasil) at these moment.
The file is available temporarily on:
calvados.c3sl.ufpr.br/help-pt_BR-2.0.2.1.tgz
All documentation is in ISO-8859-1 codification.
I ask for the aid of the community to correct and to bring up to date the documentation.

Hi all,
Thanks very much for your contribution, Eduardo; I've added this to our CVS repository, converted it to UTF-8 and corrected a few minor XML validation issues. If anyone wishes to help update the translation, or if anyone would like access to the updated files, please contact us at
pkp-support@sfu.ca. This will be released with OJS 2.1.1 (scheduled for June).
