What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:1.
Search the forum. You can do this from the
Advanced Search Page or from our
Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we
especially recommend searching the forum for said error.
2.
Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3.
Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the
OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the
OJS Development subforum.

I have a user who explains their problem as below. When they experience this, I see the following PHP error:
[Wed Oct 26 11:07:36 2005] [error] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getFileId() on a non-object in /Library/WebServer/Documents/ojs/templates/t_compile/%%F6^F6A^F6A41EDF%%submission.tpl.php on line 155
We just added another test submission and did *not* have the problem
with that file -- we were able to log in as a reviewer and post a
decision (got the complete list). But with a file we uploaded Monday
and one we uploaded this morning, we still are unable to post a
reviewer decision. So the problem does not affect a new submission,
but it continues to be a problem with previously posted submissions.
So there are three categories of test files now:
1. test files for which we previously posted a reviewer decision
--that information is still recorded
2. test files for which the reviewer options are, for no obvious
reason, not available (one posted on Monday and the other posted this
morning sometime between 11-12 (sorry don't know anything more
precise)
3. the test file we just ran thru the process (at 1) that worked fine
We'll try a couple more tests. Please let us know any thoughts
(program possessed by evil forces???).

I figured out what the problem was and it is our problem,
not a program problem. Specifically, the section editor must choose a file
to review in order for the full list of review steps to be available for the
reviewer. Why this is necessary is not clear to me, but in any case, it is easy to resolve.

Hi rthomas,
Glad to hear the issue is resolved for you; however, OJS still shouldn't be displaying an error message. Could you please clarify which version of OJS 2 you're using, and what process you followed to assign and notify a reviewer without a review version being assigned?
Regards,
Alec Smecher
