Hello everybody: is there anyone who is planning to develop a plugin to provide some level of integration of OCS with an accounting/invoicing system ?
The objectives of such integration would be mainly to register subscription to a conference and article submissions as an order in the accounting software and , in case the order is paid on line we will register also the payment.
Of course this means also that a product list must be defined in the accounting system and retrieved by OCS or exported from OCS to the invoicing system.
We are already are evaluating the more appropriate software to be integrated.
If someone else is evaluating this possibility we could certainly share our impressions and maybe share some programming effort.

OCS 2.1, released a couple of weeks ago, ships with a payments plugin, which will accept PayPal payments or allow you to handle payments manually. It may already have some of the functionality you are looking for, and would probably be a good starting point for further development into supporting accounting systems as you have described. I don't believe that the PKP team is currently looking to actively extend the payments plugin, but we would definitely welcome community contributions towards it. And of course, if you have any development questions we'd be happy to respond there.
