Now that we have finalized abstract review and acceptance, I would like to turn the online data (abstract, author, affiliation) into a printable conference program file. It seems the only export option is xml, which I'm not very familiar with. I can open this as an Excel list and work from there, but was wondering if there is a better way. (Lemon8-XML?, some other page layout program that can work from the xml database?). I'd appreciate it if anyone who has done this could point me in a good direction before I invest time needlessly in cutting and pasting.

What version of OCS are you using? The upcoming release of OCS 2.1 will, I believe, provide a number of report plugins in CSV format that can be easily imported into Excel and manipulated from there. The only XML export plugins at present are the NLM XML plugin, which exports indexing metadata, and the Users XML plugin, which exports user account data -- neither of these seem to be suited to what you're looking for. If you can let us know a little more about your OCS setup, we might be able to offer some better advice.

I am using OCS 2.0, installed at a SiteGround personal hosting site. I'm technically inclined, but am not a web designer or network specialist. I've used phpMyAdmin to backup the database, but not much else. For the moment, I downloaded the NLM xml file, opened it in Excel, and hand edited. Tedious, but it worked. There have since been many revisions to the data however, and it would be useful to know a better way. Is there some way to work off the mysql db, for example?

As I mention, OCS 2.1 will include a CSV export, which is probably the easiest way to work with the data if you're using something that natively handles CSV like Excel. If you want to get the data directly out of the database, your hosting provider might be able to set up an application like phpMyAdmin, which should allow you to export the raw data as SQL, CSV, or XML. Definitely faster and easier than hand-editing.

Nevermind, I think found it
for thoe who want to see it, there is a cool Stats & Reports option under your event. Takes you to: manager/statistics -> Reports are at the bottom. Very cool! I have several without a title and abstract though - not sure what that means.
Thanks developers - I'm just starting to dig into the improved functions of 2.1 and already this has helped!
