Journal subsections (nested sections)

Postby leahvanderjagt » Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:19 am

Hello PKP team,

Running 2.1.1.0 w/a multi-journal instance.
Web Server: Apache 1.3.36
OS: Solaris 10
Php 5.2.3
MySQL 5.0

Yes, we plan to migrate very soon!

I've been asked if journal subsections (i.e. sections within a larger section, such as different types of research under an umbrella section of 'Original research') are possible in OJS - responses on this board indicated no for earlier releases, but could you advise me as to whether this is something that is or is not something I'll see in the 2.2 install?

Thank you!

Hi Leah,

Nested sections haven't been implemented in 2.2, and I don't believe they are planned for the near future. If there is enough interest in that kind of functionality however, we can look to adding it to our list. You are also welcome to add this as a feature request to our bug tracker: http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/. If you do so, please make sure to mark it as an enhancement, and to add it against OJS 2.2.1.

Cheers,
James
