I´ve just installed ojs in my webserver and I´m having a problem with some characters (portuguese language). Some special characters are showed wrongly (á = Ã)
The problem only occurs on ojs pages, so I suppose there´s something misconfigurated on it.
Thanks u all.
You'll need to check a few things:
What character set you want to use (UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1). We recommend using UTF-8 for it's compatibility with Harvesters.
After choosing one, you need to set your server to use one of them as default (can be a virtual host setting)
Check if the variable HTML_CHARSET, in ojs/locale/pt/user.inc.php and all other languages is set to the correct charset.
Check if the file is saved in the correct charset. If you use Windows to edit your files, you may experience changes in charset after saving.
To fix this problem you will need to replace the language files and reinstall the software...
