Apart from creating navigation bar items that link to a URL, it would be nice to have the option of creating a text page, into which one could put any desired text (with HTML coding). This would be helpful for special events, society news, seminars, anything that does not fit into the pre-existing structure.

Hi Julian,
This feature is already on our list and we'll be implementing it soon. Stay tuned...

Hello Alec
what would be the possible temporal solution for this matter?
I also would like to add a link that bring me to a page with the same design as the magazine in which I can put a list of links to another sites.
Cheers
David.

Hi dsanchez,
For the time being, the easiest solution is this:
- Save the HTML code of a similar OJS page to the one you want to create
- Modify it by hand to contain the contents you want to present
- Put it in the OJS base directory beside index.php
- Link to it there from within OJS
This may take some fine-tuning of links etc. and note that it won't contain any dynamic content such as the user's username if they're currently logged in. Alternately, see the OJS technical reference at
http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/OJSTechnicalReference.pdf; using the information in this document you can extend OJS manually to include the new information you want to present, but it's likely beyond the scope of what you want to accomplish.
