If an appropriate reviewer is not already present (e.g. an account holder) within OJS, our editors solicit various people by email outside OJS. When someone agrees to undertake the review, the editor creates a reviewer account in OJS and assigns the review task.
It would be nice for editors to be able to do this solicitation from within OJS, using a Prepared Email template. Is there a reasonably quick way to set this up?
Unfortunately, the Select Reviewer page only allows an editor to either choose from existing reviewers or create a new reviewer. Obviously, editors do not want to create a new reviewer account for each person who is merely a potential reviewer. I envision another link on the Select Reviewer page, which will send an email based on a template to an arbitrary recipient(s) provided by the editor, and the sending address would be the editor's such that they would receive the reply personally, then create the account, etc..
I can just start hacking away on OJS, but heading in the right direction to start with would be good.
