Using HTML "id" attribute to name page items in te

To style our journal website, I've been frequently adding meaninful id attributes to the OJS templates. For example, because I want to "turn off" logins, the journal title above the breadcrumbs, and the breadcrumbs themselves, I've been naming those elements in order to do a simple "display: none;" in CSS. (I want them displayed on other pages, so I'll probably do if/then handling with Smarty.)

It possible OJS 2.2 will have more use of the ID attribute on page elements?

Working towards increased flexibility skinning of OJS would be great. (Meaning, an easy way to make different pages use different stylesheets for example, to avoid modifying the distributed tpl files.)

Perhaps this is something I can help with immediately?

Hi Richard,

We'll be adding theming support for OJS 2.2, but hadn't considered adding additional IDs. Could you describe a few sample changes you've made to template files? If they look promising, we'll certainly consider including them in the next release.

It'll also be possible to show and hide and rearrange various parts of the sidebar using the Layout Manager plugin, which will be released with OJS 2.2.
