OJS custom mySQL and PHP code and update problems

Postby cjpetrov » Mon Jun 23, 2014 6:27 am

Hi there,
Here are some customizations I did to the Journal website I'm building:

1. I have customised my database tables by adding columns in them and not by creating new ones in order to make stuff more in a more inteligent kind of way.
2. I did some PHP changes too.

and my questions are:
1. After update are the additional columns going to disapear from the database
2. Are the customisations on the PHP files will be wipe out too.

And last one -> for further customizing, what are the best practicies to do that kind of things.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Tsvetan,

There is some specific information about this in the user guide; internally, we host with git in order to track custom modifications.
