We frequently spend too much time in our editorial meetings simply accounting for accepted articles to make sure everything in on track. It would be a great help if accepted articles in the 'In Editing' tab could be sorted by volume and issue number so we have a better sense of what is in the works, what is coming up, and what is available for future issues. I'm aware that we can look at the 'Future Issues' page, but being able to have this information on the 'In Editing' tab would be much more accessible.

Screen real estate on that list is already very scarce, so adding a new column for the issue would be a challenge. Two alternatives:
1) By default, sort by issue, but don't display the issue information in a new column. As this would not be clear to all users (the default sort by submission ID is more self-explanatory IMO) this would probably be best done as a local modification; it would not be complicated.
2) Add issue information as a possibility in the search filters above the list. It might not be a good fit, as the search fields wouldn't currently accept issue information gracefully. I'm also not sure this would suit your needs.
