What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Hi,

When sending emails like to a reviewer to review a paper I would like to make the title name BOLD or adding any other HTML tags to prepared emails. How can i do this with OJS ?

Kenny Mathew

Hi Kenny,

This will involve some development; currently OJS sends email in plain-text format, so HTML tags will not be interpreted correctly by receiving email clients. If you're interested in putting in some development time -- it won't be much, but will require PHP skills -- let me know and I'll suggest where to start.

Hi Kenny,

You might want to start by porting the integration of the 3rd-party PHPMailer library, which has already been implemented in the master branch, but has not been released yet. The bug entry and related commits are at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7980. That library supports HTML emails as a simple configuration option; you'd just need to turn on that option to get all emails sent out as HTML.
