DOI using Bowker

Postby shdew » Mon Jan 28, 2013 11:59 am

We recently registered with Bowker to get DOI service for our OJS journals
however, we have had troubles getting it to work. According to the OJS DOI help page http://pkp.sfu.ca/wiki/index.php/DOIPlu ... umentation
there should be a DOI plugin availble to set up the service, but our version of OJS does not have a DOI plugin available in the list of Generic Plugins. How do we get the proper plug in to get Bowker DOI to work for our journals?

In addition, although in the Manager's Set Up Step One there are boxes to set up DOI, when we include the prefixes provided by Bowker and our suffix preferences, nothing happens when we publish issues. We contacted Bowker and they said that they did not have a API with OJS. Do they need to do that in order for our DOI registration with Bowker to be able to work with our OJS journals?

Any suggestions that you can give will be greatly appreciated.
