Uploading pdf, a couple of issues

I have two questions.

1. Where is the maximum file size for galleys set? We have lots of space and some articles with color photographs easily exceed 5 mb. Downsampling and increasing compression only makes them look like crap. We need to enable file sizes of at least 10mb per article.

2. If you forget to assign a pdf when using quick submit for an article, where do you go to add the pdf (or whatever file you need to add)?

There really should be a much simpler version of OJS without all the editorial functions. We have shown OJS to the editors of a few different journals, and there is no way that any of them have the know how or can even spare the time to learn OJS. Which means all we need OJS for is to publish articles which are already finished and published on paper. Quick submit is a good start, but if you need to fix something later on, like adding or replacing a file. OJS is way more complicated and unintuitive than necessary for something as simple as publishing existing pdfs online.

Hi Geir,

The maximum file size for any PHP file upload is specified in the server's php.ini file. It is not an OJS specific setting. There are two places where it should be changed, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize. The first setting should be a little larger than the second since file uploads are often accompanied with other form fields when the form is submitted.

If you forget to upload a PDF or want to re-upload one later on, this is done via the Editor -> Submissions -> Layout section. You can upload new galley files on this form and replace existing PDFs or add new ones.
