Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Completting Proofreading problem

Postby eruthes » Tue May 16, 2006 11:21 am

when I'm trying to send an email notifying that I (LayoutEditor) finished the proofreading (step 3 of proofreading) this error message appears followed by an email form with To, CC and BCC clean:

Notice: Undefined variable: editAssignments in /home/eruthes/public_html/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 289

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/eruthes/public_html/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 289

Notice: Undefined variable: receiverName in /home/eruthes/public_html/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 299

Notice: Undefined variable: receiverAddress in /home/eruthes/public_html/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 320

Notice: Undefined variable: receiverName in /home/eruthes/public_html/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 32

These messages appear on PHP5. On PHP4.3 the messages are:
Notice: Undefined variable: receiverName in /home/ojs/www/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 299

Notice: Undefined variable: receiverAddress in /home/ojs/www/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 320

Notice: Undefined variable: receiverName in /home/ojs/www/ojs2_test/classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php on line 320

Any idea?

I tried to correct these problem adding:
$editAssignments =& $sectionEditorSubmission->getEditAssignments();

on line 286 of classes/submission/proofreader/ProofreaderAction.inc.php, just before the foreach loop...

it solved my problem but is it correct to do?

Hi eruthes,

Are you using the most recent release of OJS? (Currently OJS 2.1.0-1.)

Yes, we have the latest OJS version (OJS 2.1.0-1) updated from OJS 2.0.2-1.

Hi Eduardo,

See http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2186 for the Bugzilla entry -- yes, your proposed fix is correct.
