What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:1.
Search the forum. You can do this from the
Advanced Search Page or from our
Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we
especially recommend searching the forum for said error.
2.
Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3.
Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the
OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the
OJS Development subforum.

As journal manager, I recently registered a new user as an editor and selected the randomly assigned password option for him, and the system-generated email that would provide him with his new username & password. He never got the email.
I modified his profile by entering a new email address and attempted to reset his password, using the new address. He didn't receive the second email either. Though I can communicate directly using both email addresses, apparently the ojs cannot. So he's in the system as a user but neither one of us knows what his password is. Can you help?
Thanks

Hi Joan,
Do any of the other email functions in OJS work? If not, you probably need to configure an email server; check config.inc.php under [smtp] for details.
As long as a user is created and the email address is filled in properly, the user should be able to reset his own password using the "forgotten email" link on the login page. (Of course, if email sending isn't configured properly, this won't work either.)
