1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

Hello,

Below is my homepage metadata in the source code. May I know how to insert this meta description and meta keywords?

Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
   "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your help. I also found the userguide at http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/docs/userguide/2. ... etup1.html.

IMHO, it's good to show to the user that I'm using OJS. But when considering with the security of my site, I think I should remove OJS Generator Tag because when hackers able to know the OJS version that I'm using and if security hole was found in that version, then hackers can hack my site.

Can you advice me how to remove this Generator Tag (remove version only)?

I would like to have metadata like this:
Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
   "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
   <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
   <title>Open Journal System</title>
   <meta name="description" content="" />
   <meta name="keywords" content="" />
   <meta name="generator" content="Open Journal Systems" />

Hi again,

You can remove the OJS version by editing line 25 of lib/pkp/templates/common/header.tpl. Although, I doubt that knowing the version of OJS will provide help to individuals who want to compromise your site. It is entirely possible to run an older version of OJS and keep it secure by applying patches as they become available.

Thank you so much for your help. I've successfully remove that $currentVersionString string.

Do you have any idea to remove OJS version at http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/demo/present/inde ... hingSystem? Can I customize that "ABOUT THIS PUBLISHING SYSTEM" page?
