Hi Walter,
The problem is that the registry/it_IT/countries.xml file, which lists countries in the specified locale, is missing or not accessible by the web server. You can either put a translated version of registry/en_US/countries.xml in this location, or you can just copy the English version across without translating it.
If you have an Italian translation of OJS available, would you consider contributing it to the OJS codebase for distribution in later releases? If so, please contact us at pkp-support@sfu.ca.
